Engineering Geologist

AdvertDue to a steadily increasing workload, we currently have an opportunity within our Dublin office for an enthusiastic and motivated geologist to join our team.Given the diverse nature of SLR’s business, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and work across multiple geoscience disciplines. This position is ideal for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and knowledge in engineering geology and/or geotechnical engineering and is or soon to be recognised as a professional, chartered geologist (PGeo).The RoleWith support from senior colleagues, initial duties and responsibilities will include:Supervision of mineral resource drilling programmes and geological core loggingPlanning procurement and management of ground investigations and preparation of factual and interpretative reportsUndertaking routine quarry inspections, aggregate sampling and sample managementGenerating and manging geological / geotechnical databases;Petrographic analyses and preparation of technical reportsReviewing, interpreting and reporting the results of routine aggregate analysis; andPreparing geological Conceptual Site Models.The position will involve regular site work which may involve working on sites away from home for short periods.
