POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires a detailed oriented professional to maintain control of engineering records in hardcopy and electronic formats such as (drawings, travelers, documents, ECO’s, ECR’s, binders, logs, MRP software). Functions include but are not limited to issue, release, review, distribution, archive, scanning, retrieval, and transmission. Additionally, provides support and interacts with Human Resources, Sales, Accounting, Quality, Production, and Operations Manager as needed. Must also be able and willing to answer phones and perform reception area activities when needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and handle all Sales Order entries into an Excel spreadsheet that comprises the engineering backlog.
- Process engineering documentation packages for each Sales Order processed through engineering- Including a thorough review to ensure drawing revisions are up to date; ECR’s and ECO’s are incorporated; and customer drawings and PID’s are current; transfer obsolete documents and/or drawings into archive folders.
- Use MRP system to update and/or generate Engineering Masters, BOM; add or remove part numbers, change or modify any Engineering Master field entry, including updating Drawing Number revisions, Customer Drawing revisions. Change usage quantities, as directed by the engineering team.
- Manage and control ECO and ECR logs. Control, review, print, distribute, release, print, and archive upon incorporating all ECO’s and ECR’s.
- Perform a thorough and detailed review of all revised or updated documentation, upon completion of engineering review.
- Support HR, Accounting, Sales, QA, and engineering departments as needed.
- Organize and maintain engineering documents, Military Standards, Vendor Catalogues, Silkscreen and Rubber Stamp logs, in filing cabinets or book shelves.
- Participate in engineering departmental meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent 1-3 years Document Control experience.
- Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency required, Word, Excel, and Outlook, a must.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and professional business correspondence a must.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
WORK CONTACTS:
This position interfaces with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing personnel, administrative personnel, and customers.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
This position requires lifting of up to 25lbs. Substantial walking and standing for long periods of time. Position will require, stooping, kneeling, sitting, walking and standing for long periods. Additionally, candidate will require the use of fingers and wrist for clerical and associated tasks. Position will require ability to read and follow guidelines, including Engineering, Quality, safety policies and procedures. Reasonable accommodations will be made for disabled candidates.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work environment may have noise levels ranging from medium to quiet. The environment for this position varies from clean, climate controlled offices to manufacturing and warehouse areas.
