Job Description
Overview
Altura is looking for an Engineering & Design Manager to lead our project delivery team and ensure we consistently produce high-quality engineered plans and details for industrial clients.
This role owns project execution — delivering work that is accurate, constructible, and ready for the field — while developing a strong team and scalable systems.
If you’ve worked at a refinery, chemical plant, or large industrial facilities and understand how projects get executed, this role will feel familiar.
You will work closely with leadership to translate vision into results and help build a high-performance engineering organization.
What You Are Accountable For
•\tDelivering accurate, high-quality engineering plans and details that can be built in the field
•\tEnsuring projects are completed on time and on budget
•\tBuilding and leading a high-performing engineering and design team
•\tDriving consistency, quality, and throughput across all projects
•\tImplementing and maintaining project management systems and standards
•\tDeveloping team members through mentorship and accountability
Key Responsibilities
•\tLead and manage engineers, designers, and drafters day-to-day
•\tEstablish clear priorities, workloads, and schedules across projects
•\tImplement and enforce project workflows, QA/QC, and standards
•\tTrack and improve key metrics (schedule, budget, utilization, quality)
•\tPartner with leadership on hiring, staffing, and team development
•\tDevelop and review scopes, estimates, and deliverables for accuracy and alignment with client expectations
Education & Experience
•\t10+ years engineering and project management experience (industrial )
•\tProfessional engineering license required (or plan to be acquired within 6 months of hiring)
•\tProven experience leading engineering/design teams and supporting and developing others
•\tStrong in execution, making sound decisions, and consistently following through to completion
•\tComfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
•\tExperience with project delivery in refinery, chemical, or industrial environments
