Energy Storage Engineer - Senior Level (Hybrid)

Job Description:

Summary:

Barr is seeking an energy storage engineer to join our electrical engineering team and support our clients in facility, utility, industrial, fuels, and mining sectors. The role involves working on multidisciplinary project teams, assisting with energy-storage business development across various market opportunities. The candidate will need to understand market trends, growth opportunities, and contribute to building our energy-storage strategy and services. The position may require up to 25% travel for out-of-town assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field

10+ years of relevant experience

Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy team environment and demonstrate self-initiative

Flexible working style to meet deadlines and client needs

Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical solutions

Qualifications:

Experience with energy storage applications and lifecycle demands

Knowledge of the power industry or utilities

PE license or ability to obtain within one year

Proficiency in energy and financial modeling

Understanding of other renewable markets and technologies

Work arrangements may be hybrid, split between an office in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI; Denver or Fort Collins, CO; Duluth or Minneapolis, MN; or Salt Lake City, UT.

Compensation:

The base salary range is $115,000-$140,000/year, classified as exempt under FLSA. Compensation varies based on experience and other factors. Employees may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing through our ESOP.
