Job Description:
Summary:
Barr is seeking an energy storage engineer to join our electrical engineering team and support our clients in facility, utility, industrial, fuels, and mining sectors. The role involves working on multidisciplinary project teams, assisting with energy-storage business development across various market opportunities. The candidate will analyze market trends, growth opportunities, and contribute to building our energy-storage strategy and services. Some out-of-town travel (up to 25%) may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
10+ years of relevant experience
Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy environment with self-initiative
Flexible working style and schedule adaptability
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions
Qualifications:
Experience with energy storage applications and lifecycle demands
Experience in the power industry or utilities
PE license or ability to obtain within one year
Proficiency in energy and financial modeling
Knowledge of other renewable markets and technologies
Work Arrangement and Location:
A hybrid work model may be considered, combining office and remote work. The position can be based in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI; Denver or Fort Collins, CO; Duluth or Minneapolis, MN; or Salt Lake City, UT.
Compensation:
The expected base salary range is
$115,000-$140,000/year . Compensation varies based on experience, education, and skills. Additional bonuses may be available based on performance. Barr distributes profits through bonuses and an ESOP.
