We are seeking an Electronics Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a role in the testing and development of new and existing products. This position is perfect for someone who is looking to progress their engineering career.
Working Hours
Full Time and permanent on site at Warrington. Working Monday-Friday 36.5 hours a week (working a shorter day on Friday).

You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive electronic design team.Key Responsibilities:
Be an active player in the design and development of both new products and performance across our cutting edge range of Quadrupole mass Spectrometers and Surface Science instruments.
Gain a full understanding of Mass Spectrometry and its applications.
Actively drive the transfer of prototypes into production, including validation and verification testing, product compliance (EMC and LVD), of documentation etc.
Work as part of a team with the production department in diagnosing issues with existing products during manufacture.
Assist in the development of new test fixtures and procedures.
Provide solutions to component obsolescence issues.Essential Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline (including applied physics).
At least 5 years' experience working in an electronics design or similar role (shorter durations may be considered).
Some involvement in design for manufacture, new product introduction or full product lifecycle development work.
Strong analytical and fault-finding skills.
Demonstrable ability to work as part of a wider team, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, and to self-organise and work autonomously.
Some experience of schematic capture and PCB layout in a tool such as Altium Designer.
Experience in use of basic test equipment, and of hand soldering of prototypes including SMT parts. Desirable skills
Any of the following skills would be an advantage:
Background in industrial or scientific electronic product development (or similar such as Mil/Aero).
Strong low-frequency analogue design skills (precision op-amp circuits, low-noise signal chains, ADCs, filters).
Experience of DC-DC converter design, including high-voltage types.
RF design techniques up to 30MHz, including design of coils, matching networks etc.
Involvement in design for EMC and LVD compliance.
Experience in design for manufacture, production test fixture and software development.
Knowledge of embedded C for microcontrollers (e.g. PIC32, STM32), including FreeRTOS.
Experience of communication protocols such as RS485, Modbus, SPI, I2C, Ethernet.
Work with FPGA-based embedded systems including SOCs running Linux
