Electronics Design Manager\n\nA global leader in high-performance technology is seeking an Electronics Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving hardware design from initial concept through to successful high-volume manufacturing within a fast-paced, scale-up environment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Manage a functional team of engineers, including junior members and senior leads, to deliver robust electronics architecture across the full product lifecycle.\n\n * Take full accountability for all electronic aspects of the product line, ensuring designs are documented and adhere to strict quality systems.\n\n * Implement DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) processes to ensure a robust supply chain and efficient production.\n\n * Define technology roadmaps, develop system architectures, and manage departmental budgets to meet evolving market requirements.\n\nTechnical Requirements\n\n * Proven expertise in complex PCB design, multi-layer boards, and hardware platforms featuring FPGA, DSP, and embedded processors.\n\n * Deep technical knowledge of both digital and analogue electronics, including real-time control loops and high-voltage drive for specialised devices.\n\n * Extensive experience managing programmes in an agile environment, from requirements elicitation to validation testing and qualification.\n\n * Strong understanding of safety and EMC standards to ensure all designs meet relevant environmental and certification requirements.\n\nBonus Skills\n\n * Significant background in the telecommunications sector with a track record of delivering complex products under demanding timescales.\n\n * Expert-level skills in production support, root cause analysis, and implementing DFA (Design for Assembly) processes.\n\n * Experience working with external partners on custom IC designs and managing cross-functional teams including optics and software.\n\n * Ability to embed Systems Engineering practices into the design phase to drive scalable and resilient hardware architecture.\n\nBenefits\n\n * £80k-90k salary DOE plus a performance-based bonus of up to 10%.\n\n * Private Medical Care, a Health Cash Plan with an online GP service, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).\n\n * A market-leading 8% employer pension contribution and life assurance benefits.\n\n * 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and an additional "Company Day"), hybrid flexibility, and a Cycle to Work scheme
