The role supports legacy products through the insertion of new technologies. The Electronic Design Engineer applies broad engineering knowledge, skills, and experience, working in line with established company approaches, techniques, and governance within the electronics domain.\n\nCore Duties:\n\nDesign and development of electronic assemblies, from specification through testing to release into service\n\nSupport existing designs and implementation of technology insertion programmes including fault diagnosis and rectification\n\nTranslation of requirements into detail design of electronic subsystems\n\nComponent selection, electronic circuits schematic capture, and support to PCB layout\n\nSpecification of electronic circuit components and bespoke items for procurement\n\nInterfacing with related disciplines including mechanical engineering, ILS, Safety, and Production\n\nFollow the engineering lifecycle and provide support to progress reviews, peer and design reviews\n\nEssential skills:\n\nHND or Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience\n\nAbility to work with PCB designers and support on PCB/circuit layout\n\nExperience of generating component level designs for introduction into volume production using computer-aided engineering\n\nExperience of various communications protocols such as RS422 is desirable\n\nExperience of analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversion & FPGA/CPLD development is desirable\n\nThe team:\n\nAs an Electronics Design Engineer you will undertake design and electrical integration in respect of legacy products and technology insertion. You will also be responsible for the design elements and obsolescence of the electrical aspects of the Spearfish Underwater System.\n\nAs the world has evolved, so has the way we work.
