We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Electronics and Electrical Engineering to join our Construction Crafts & Engineering department. This role is ideal for a professional who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment that supports student development and progression.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses within the curriculum area, both vocational and non-vocational.
  • Implement and manage assessment procedures in line with College policies and the requirements of awarding bodies, including participation in internal and external verification and moderation.
  • Serve as a group and personal tutor, delivering the required tutorial programme, providing guidance, and setting personal and academic SMART targets for students.
  • Maintain accurate course and learner records, track and monitor learner performance, and provide necessary data and statistical returns using student record information systems.
  • Utilize and support new technologies in teaching, including digital resources like online learning tools and applications.
  • Manage student discipline consistently in accordance with College policies.
  • Engage with Student Services, parents/carers, and other stakeholders to support learners effectively.
  • Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of the curriculum and contribute to the self-assessment process.
  • Support the marketing of courses and participate in open events, which may involve flexible working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional standards as outlined by The Education & Training Foundation for Teachers and Trainers in Education and Training - England.
  • Experience in planning and delivering high-quality teaching in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in using digital and online learning tools and applications.
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to effectively manage student records and performance tracking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for college events and enrolment procedures.
