Electronic Technician Apprentice

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs and control panels
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and technical documentation
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical faults and assist in root cause analysis
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools and software for monitoring system performance.
  • Follow all applicable safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and NFPA 70E, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Consistently apply Vallourec’s internal safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and electrical safety practices
  • Participate in JHA discussions to identify potential risks and implement appropriate controls after starting any task
  • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for each task
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to prevent accidents and support operational efficiency
  • Attend regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and updates to safety policies
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs and replacements
  • Offer feedback on training materials and processes to help improve the apprenticeship program and support continuous learning
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong verbal, written and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and execute written and verbal instructions
  • Strong interest in electrical systems and industrial technology
  • Basic math, reading and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, multimeters and basic electrical concepts.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a pre-apprenticeship or vocational training program

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work in confined spaces or at heights
  • May require shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays
