Electronic Engineer in Worcester, Worcestershire

YT Tech is proud to partner with an industry-leading technology designer and manufacturer to recruit an Electronics Engineer. Based near Worcester.

We are looking for an ambitious engineer with around two years of product development experience to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to design, debug, and bring new hardware systems to life.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Design: Create analogue and digital circuits, schematic captures, and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.

*

Testing & Bring-Up: Conduct circuit simulation, bench testing, debugging, and initial board bring-up using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and spectrum analysers.

*

Prototyping: Perform hands-on prototyping, board modifications, and precision soldering down to 0402 components.

*

System Integration: Work with common communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) and collaborate across software, mechanical, and systems teams.

*

Lifecycle & Manufacturing Support: Support products from initial concept through to production, investigating hardware faults and implementing corrective actions alongside manufacturing.

Documentation: Maintain thorough records of designs, test procedures, and engineering changes.

Required Experience

*

Education: First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or a related discipline) from a recognised UK university.

*

Experience: Approximately 2 years of professional engineering experience in a product development environment.

*

EDA Tools: Practical experience using Altium Designer for schematics and layout.

*

Analogue Circuitry: Background in analogue design and simulation (e.g., amplifiers, signal conditioning, filters).

*

Bench & Rework Skills: Proven hands-on debugging skills and practical soldering/modification abilities for prototyping.

*

Protocols & Delivery: Familiarity with common interface protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet) and an understanding of full product lifecycle processes.

Desirable Skills

*

Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and development environments.

*

Knowledge of EMC design practices and compliance processes.

*

Exposure to embedded software development or working within regulated/safety-critical environments.
