Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Study, understand, and become familiar with the operation of assigned equipment; interpret blueprints and schematics found in manuals; and decipher the testing procedures for each unit.

2. Lead the development of all stages required to incorporate a new unit, including implementation and manufacturing of the Med-Craft tooling and test equipment (TTE) procedure and providing all tools and documents necessary for testing.

3. Construct test devices based on CMM data, demonstrating practical manufacturing skills and the ability to meet or exceed technical requirements; create schematics, analog/digital hardware, and PCB layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

4. Assist the bench technician during the production process, providing training as necessary.

5. Maintain test equipment — such as test fixtures, measuring instruments, power supplies, test benches, and decade boxes — in operational condition; ensure all relevant calibrations and certifications remain current; and manage replacement or expansion of the equipment inventory.

6. Inspect electronic systems and aircraft units, perform root cause analysis, and run reliability and safety evaluations; develop techniques for repairing various types of equipment.

7. Collaborate with production teams to verify product feasibility, assembly, and agency compliance.

8. Prepare equivalence reports, technical specifications, electrical and functional diagrams, maintenance guidelines, and test procedures, sheets, and reports; develop software programs as required, in accordance with the specified in the manufacturer's manual.

9. Search for and compile all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) information needed to support tooling and equivalence work.

10. Enter descriptions and information for all tools manufactured in house into the company system, and process equivalences for those tools, filing them once all approvals are collected.

11. Maintain engineering inventory control, keeping current records of new and depleted items and tracking usage on specific equipment as requested.

12. Take photographs of all tools and store them accordingly to maintain proper records; create IDs and all corresponding paperwork for all tools.

13. Locate, label, and organize tools in the toolroom, and report any missing or broken tools; respond to inventory requests and keep an inventory log.

14. Ensure all calibrations are certified and valid, and update the system with new calibration information, maintaining a consistent ID list to search for equipment needing calibration.

15. Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
