We are seeking a skilled Electro‐Mechanical Technician to join a highly respected manufacturing company in Wharton, NJ. Founded in 1945, this client was the first electro‐mechanical business in America to be certified by ISO‐9001 and is a proud member of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA). This role offers hands‐on work on a variety of electro‐mechanical assemblies with a team that values safety, quality, and technical craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do:
- Test and troubleshoot electro‐mechanical equipment using various methods and diagnostic tools
- Disassemble and document assemblies, noting parts identification, configuration, and condition
- Clean equipment assemblies using parts washers, steam cleaning, glass blasting, and other approved methods
- Measure and requisition replacement parts accurately; coordinate with storekeeper and supervisor for approvals
- Replace or repair mechanical and electro‐mechanical components (bearings, brushes, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, switches, brakes, clutches, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.)
- Inspect purchased parts for correctness and quality prior to installation
- Reassemble equipment and test for proper operation using specialized tools
- Operate repair and testing equipment including megohmmeter, surge tester, HiPot tester, hydraulic press, micrometer, and more
- Perform winding and machining operations as needed
- Assist other mechanics or shop personnel with skilled and non‐skilled duties as directed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures
- Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects as needed to complete repairs
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years hands‐on experience in electro‐mechanical repair or completion of an approved apprenticeship program
- High School diploma or GED required
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn, retain, and apply skill‐related training and safety procedures
- Experience with winding, machining, and dynamic balancing operations
- Proficiency using hand tools, precision measuring tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow formal repair plans and technical procedures
- Ability to lift heavy loads and work safely at all times
