Job Description

Electricity Procurement Consultant - P442 - "Behind the Meter"

Rapidly expanding multi site micro data centre provider is looking for an experienced Electricity Procurement Specialist to lead commercial negotiations and manage energy purchasing strategies across its innovative, energy-recycling data centres. The role focuses on securing and optimising “behind-the-meter” electricity agreements in line with the upcoming P442 regulatory framework, ensuring both commercial efficiency and compliance.

You will work closely with energy suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to structure competitive contracts, analyse consumption patterns, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and sustainability gains. A deep understanding of UK energy markets, grid balancing, and evolving Ofgem regulations, particularly P442 and its impact on settlement arrangements is essential.

Ideal candidates will have a background in electricity procurement, energy trading, or commercial energy management, with experience supporting high-consumption clients such as data centres or industrial operations. Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills are key, along with the ability to translate technical and regulatory complexities into clear business outcomes.

This is a consultancy type role.
