Job Title: Electrician- Manufacturing

Location: Temple, TX

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor


Primary duties will include:

• Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.

• Startup and shut down equipment in accordance with operation’s requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA

• Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to correct the problem.

• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.

• Dismantle, inspect, and replace electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts

• Lays-out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and to include panels, breakers, and conduit.

• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments

• Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.

• Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.

• Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.

• Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications

• Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.

• Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions

• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results

• Document actions by completing production and quality forms

• Reports all outages to supervisor

• Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

• Technical or professional certification preferred and/or completion of an appropriate apprenticeship program

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical maintenance:

Basic Electrical Safety

AC & DC Circuits and Machinery

Electrical Troubleshooting - Electrical Code

• Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment.

• Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees and the public in English.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, identify priorities and organize efficiently to meet deadlines.

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work safely and efficiently

• Must wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

• Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.


Preferred education:

• High School diploma is preferred, GED required.

• We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.


The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.

• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

• Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.

• Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have vision.
