This role oversees electrical work for a recreation center remodel project, leading journeyman-level equivalent tasks in a construction environment. You will perform hands-on electrical installation while working independently after receiving initial instructions, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install light fixtures and related electrical components in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Pull electrical wire for new and existing structures, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and organization.
  • Measure, bend, and install conduit to support new electrical systems, maintaining accuracy and alignment.
  • Work independently after receiving instructions, planning and executing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in building conduit systems for a new structure, coordinating with other trades as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of fall protection and proper operation of boom lifts when required.
  • Inspect completed work to verify compliance with electrical standards, project requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used and stored safely.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and needs clearly to supervisors and team members to keep the project on schedule.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an apprentice to journeyman-level electrician.
  • Strong hands-on experience with electrical installation on construction projects.
  • Proficiency in light fixture installation, including mounting, wiring, and testing.
  • Demonstrated ability in conduit bending and installation for various sizes and configurations.
  • Proven experience in wire pulling for new and existing electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving initial instructions and to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Apprentice TDLR qualification.
  • Boom lift certification.
  • Fall protection training and adherence to safety practices.
  • Solid understanding of job site safety requirements in a construction environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on remodel projects, particularly in commercial or recreational facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical plans and instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in installing and routing electrical systems.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and other trades on site.
  • Reliability and punctuality in a project-based construction setting.

Work Environment

This position is based on an active construction site for a recreation center remodel. You will work primarily with electrical tools and equipment, including conduit benders, wire pulling tools, and boom lifts, while following all site-specific safety protocols. The work involves physical activity such as standing, climbing, lifting, and working at heights with appropriate fall protection. The environment is typical of a construction setting, with varying weather conditions, noise, and coordination with other trades. Standard construction attire, including appropriate personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety footwear, is required at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
