Electrician – Portsmouth Naval Base\n £35,000 – £38,000 + overtime \n Full-time, 37 hours per week\n\n We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join a busy team providing electrical shore connections and temporary power solutions to vessels within Portsmouth Naval Base.\n\n This is a hands-on role in a fascinating environment — supporting some of the UK’s most advanced ships while working across both 50Hz and 60Hz systems. No two days are the same, and your work will genuinely make an impact.\n\n What you’ll be doing:\nInstalling and maintaining temporary electrical supplies, lighting and shore connections for vessels.\n\nProducing simple installation diagrams and checking kit before installation.\n\nLiaising directly with customers to ensure everything runs smoothly.\n\nCarrying out inspections and maintenance in line with safety and quality standards.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nNVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation and Inspection, or a recognised apprenticeship.\n\n17th or 18th Edition (BS7671).\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nConfident IT skills (Microsoft Office, smartphone/tablet use).\n\nA strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in getting the job done safely and to a high standard.\n\nWhat’s in it for you:\n£35,000 – £38,000 salary + overtime \n\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\nEnhanced pension scheme\n\nLife assurance\n\nCycle to work and wellbeing schemes\n\nEmployee discount programme\n\nOngoing training and professional development\n\nIf you’re an experienced electrician who enjoys varied, practical work in an interesting setting — this could be the perfect next move.\n\nMarine Resources Recruitment Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent and fixed term contract recruitment and as a recruitment business for the supply of contract workers.
