About the Role:
As an Electrician at our Tonawanda location, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within our consumer support services environment. Your primary focus will be on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment to support power distribution and commercial wiring needs. You will work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to balance electrical loads and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role demands a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to prevent downtime and maintain operational continuity. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the reliability and safety of our facility’s electrical infrastructure, supporting overall business performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience with electrical wiring, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a consumer support services or manufacturing environment.
- Additional certifications such as OSHA safety training or NFPA 70E electrical safety.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, switchgear, and related equipment in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in power distribution and commercial wiring systems.
- Pull wire and balance electrical loads to optimize system performance and prevent overloads.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute electrical system upgrades and preventive maintenance.
- Document all electrical work performed and maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations.
Skills:
The required skills such as electrical wiring, switchgear operation, and power distribution are essential for daily tasks including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Balancing electrical loads ensures system stability and prevents equipment damage, which is critical in maintaining continuous operations. Pulling wire and commercial wiring skills are applied when setting up new electrical circuits or upgrading existing infrastructure. Electrical troubleshooting is used regularly to quickly identify and resolve faults, minimizing downtime. skills like reading blueprints and using CMMS enhance efficiency and accuracy in planning and documenting electrical work, while safety certifications support adherence to industry standards.
