Position: Electrical Wiring & Assembly Technician

Location: Newport, MN

Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Wage:$31.50 – $38.50 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Wiring & Assembly Technician to join our team in Newport, MN. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical wiring, assembly, and testing of industrial equipment. This position involves performing precise wiring work, interpreting schematics, ensuring safety and quality standards, and supporting engineering and project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical wiring of system components according to engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

  • Install and terminate wires, cables, relays, circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, and other electrical components as needed.

  • Route and secure wiring to meet quality, safety, and durability requirements that align with customer expectations.

  • Apply wiring per industry codes (NEC).

  • Rework, relocate, add, or remove components as necessary.

  • Perform continuity and functional testing on completed electrical assemblies.

  • Inspect and verify wiring meets internal quality standards and applicable codes.

  • Document test results and correct wiring or assembly errors.

  • Specify components and materials for BOM creation.

  • Assist engineering with wiring schematics and electrical layouts as needed.

  • Support project management with load calculations and load center panel schedules.

  • Provide assistance with field service calls when required.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in a specialized field .

  • Journeyman electrician certification .

  • Minimum of 3+ years of specialized electrical experience required.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings.

  • Solid understanding of industry codes and standards (NEC).

  • Mathematical skills, including ability to perform metric conversions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
