Industrial Electrician – 3rd Shift
Location: Waukegan, IL
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join a long-standing, recession-resistant manufacturer in the building materials industry. Pay & Schedule:
-
$38–$40/hour during contract period (6 months)
-
$44.99/hour after conversion to permanent employee
-
3rd shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday–Friday

Overtime: Mandatory 2 Saturdays per month (rotating)

Holiday pay at 2.5x rate (rotating crew schedule)

Training on 1st shift for 3–8 weeks before moving to 3rd shift
What You’ll Do:
-
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for heavy industrial equipment
-
Work extensively with 480V 3 Phase power and VFDs
-
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder diagrams
-
Run and bend conduit, replace sensors, troubleshoot servo motors/drives
-
Inspect, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
-
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability

Ensure compliance with NEC and all safety regulations in a dusty, loud environment
What We’re Looking For:

3–5 years of industrial electrical experience (heavy manufacturing , but all manufacturing industries considered)

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and NEC regulations

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on 3rd shift

Proficiency with PLC inputs/outputs (AC/DC) and burner systems a plus

Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter)
Requirements:

Must be able to train on 1st shift (3–8 weeks)

Willingness to work overtime and every other Saturday

Ability to work safely in dusty, noisy industrial settings
