Are you looking to make a tangible impact on a vibrant campus?\n\nJob Title: Electrician\n Salary: Up to £36,130 per annum\n Job Family: Facilities\n Work Base: Cambridge\n Hours of Work: Full time, 37 hours per week\n Responsible to: Asset Manager\n Responsible for: No direct line management responsibility\n\nPurpose of Job:\n Provide both reactive and planned maintenance for electrical systems, ensuring the built environment is maintained to deliver a positive student experience, client satisfaction, and value for money. Carry out installations, report faults and problems, and provide general support as directed.\n\nMain Responsibilities:\n\nUnderstand the function of electrical systems and equipment to make repairs, adjustments, and fault find.\nPerform regular routine maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.\nCarry out alterations and improvements to electrical systems and equipment.\nConduct electrical installations and ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice.\nPerform electrical testing and inspection, including Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T.).\nWork collaboratively with other trades within the department to deliver the service as a team, within set time limits.\nAttend courses and lectures as directed by the Supervisor or Works management to update knowledge and skills, including Health and Safety.\nCover/stand in for other members of staff who may be absent as directed.\nAdditional attendance may be required to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours on a rota basis, and overtime may be required to ensure all jobs/tasks are completed.\nUndertake any other relevant duties as required.Join us and be part of a team dedicated to maintaining a high-quality environment for our university community.
