Job Title: Electrical Test Technician

Location: Richmond, VA

Hire Type: Direct Hire, Full-time Onsite

Target Pay Range: $26.00 - $28.00/hour

Job Summary:

Join our manufacturing team as an Electrical Test Technician, where you'll be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and verifying the functionality of low-voltage power distribution systems. Your work will directly contribute to product reliability and safety while supporting overall production quality.

 

Job Duties:

  • Perform electrical testing on low-voltage power systems using meters, analyzers, and specialized tools.
  • Test products such as PDUs, switchgear, STS units, and busway systems as part of the factory quality process.
  • Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to guide test procedures.
  • Document test results and equipment performance using various digital tools (Excel, Modbus Poll, PDFs, etc.).
  • Inspect incoming components for quality and completeness before testing begins.
  • Assist in completing test records, technical documentation, and customer acceptance reports.
  • Set up and verify cabling layouts specific to job requirements.
  • Address and troubleshoot issues during testing; escalate unresolved problems to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure products meet design and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area.
  • Perform other tasks as needed under the guidance of the Test Operations Manager.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; hands-on electrical testing experience (1–2 years ).

  • Technical degree or military training in electronics, power systems, or engineering strongly .

  • Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment (PDUs, switchgear, etc.) and testing procedures.

  • Understanding of 3-phase and DC power systems, electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E, NEC, UL/IEC), and general troubleshooting practices.

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and operate test equipment confidently.

  • Strong attention to detail, computer literacy, and comfort working with digital tools for data entry and reporting.

  • Good communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to work overtime/weekends when needed.
