Electrical Test Operator PCB | 1st Shift

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electrical testing on printed circuit boards to ensure functionality and compliance with quality standards.


Essential Job Function:

Electrical Test I (Entry level)


· Perform job related tasks as instructed by supervisor.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

· Assist with loading /unloading electrical test machines, as instructed by supervisor.

· Read and understand applicable Process Procedures and safety rules.

· Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.


Electrical Test II (Operator level)


· Perform all Electrical Test I tasks defined above.

· Set-up, load, unload and operate electrical test machines with minimal supervision.

· Maximize productivity by maintaining electrical test machines loaded.

· Visually inspect boards for pin marks and adjust, if necessary.

· Discontinue processing when a non-conforming condition is found and report it to management.

· Perform all tasks and routine maintenance as required by Process Procedure.

· Accurately complete all departmental, quality and lot tracking documentation.

· Assist other operators when time allows.


Electrical Test III (Advance operator level)


· Perform all Electrical Test I & II tasks defined above.

· Collaborate with management/ shift supervisor to ensure appropriate personnel are scheduled to meet the departmental and company goals while minimizing overtime.

· Actively seek process improvement activities to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

· Evaluate new technologies, materials, and techniques.

· Support and implement company policy and procedures.

· Assist in training assigned personnel.

· Schedule Preventive Maintenance for departmental equipment.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Electrical Test I

  • High School diploma or equivalent ().
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English.

· Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), as required by work area.

· Excellent work ethics, detail oriented and self-motivated.

· Be a team player and work well with others.

· Flexible and willing to cross-train in other areas.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Able to work overtime including weekends and holidays, as required, in support of departmental and company goals.


Electrical Test II (Including level I)

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in printed circuit board Electrical Test and be able to satisfactorily perform each task for Electrical Test I operator.

· Able to set-up and operate Electrical Test equipment, with minimal supervision.

· Able to identify, evaluate, analyze, and possibly rework electrical test failures.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Able to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable using multimeters and continuity testers (for failure verification).
  • Understanding of common testing terms /parameters such as isolation, conductivity, and adjacency.
  • Understanding of:

IPC-9252, Requirements for Electrical Testing of Unpopulated Printed Circuit Boards &

IPC-TM-650 method 2.5.7, PCB Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (HI-Pot).


Electrical Test III (Including levels I and II)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in printed circuit board Electrical Test and be able to satisfactorily perform each task for Electrical Test II operator.

· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

· In-depth experience and knowledge of printed circuit board Electrical Test capabilities.

· In-depth knowledge of industry’s electrical test standards and specifications, such as IPC-9252 and IPC-TM-650 method 2.5.7.

· Able to support and implement company policy and safety protocols.

  • Able to effectively communicate (verbally and/or written) with customer’s staff, APCT’s manufacturing group and supplier representatives.

Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.


Physical Requirements:

· Able to stand for extended periods (loading test machines)

· Able to sit for extended periods (reworking PCB boards)

· Lift up to 25 pounds from waist to chest level when loading and unloading test machines

ITAR Compliance Requirement:

This position requires access to controlled technical data and/or participation in activities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
