Job Description
Our client has an opportunity for an Electrical Test Operations Engineer to join them on a contract role for 6 months with possible extension. You will be Executing electrical and functional test procedures on engineering test benches and flight spacecraft in accordance with Work Orders, test procedures and processes.\n\nRole: Electrical Test Operations Engineer\n Location: Oxford \n Hours: Shift work Monday to Sunday - either rotating double day shifts or rotating Early, late ,nights depending on project need. There may be periods of flexible shift depending on project phases.\n Clearance: SC required before\n Hourly Rate: £37 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35 + a 20% shift uplift when working on shift\n\nWhat you'll be doing:\n\nExecution of Electrical and Functional test procedures on Engineering test benches and flight spacecraft.\nUse of the Central Checkout System (CCS), Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Spacecraft Check Out Equipment (SCOE) to support the test activities.
Typically test racks housing a mix of generic & bespoke test equipment.\nValidation of test-aids, break out boxes, cables etc.\nTest procedure updates, raising work orders, test reports and other test documentation.\nSupport in the development and debug of Automatic Test procedures (ATP) using a bespoke high-level S/W to test the spacecraft subsystems on a Satellite Simulator, test bench or the spacecraft.\nSupporting electrical integration, automated and manual tests at unit, subsystem & system level.\nSpacecraft electrical test and support during environmental test and launch activities.\nWork to company and departmental procedures and standards.\nSupport in the design and manufacture of electrical test aids, preparing drawings and manufacturing packs as well as overseeing the procurement of parts, manufacture and validation.\nSupport in the day-to-day running of the department with tasks such as test equipment recall for calibration, test campaign logistics and possibly export rating.Requirements:\n\nElectrical integration of equipment on a test bench or spacecraft.\nCompetent in the use of various test equipment used for electrical and RF measurements, e.g. DMM, oscilloscope, signal generator, current probes, Data acquisition unit, signal generator, power meter, network analyser, data bus monitors etc.\nBasic knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and awareness, e.g. Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standards, Data Bus Communications - 1553, Spacewire, Attitude &, Orbital Control, Star Trackers, Gyros, Momentum Wheels, Power systems, batteries, Solar Arrays, Thermal Control, heaters, thermostats, etc.\nUse of a wide range of electrical test equipment and test racks.\nExecuting test sequences/scripts on a test bench or spacecraft from a Central Checkout System (CCS) including making minor updates to these.\nElectrical fault investigation and test debug.\nEnvironmental and launch test campaigns.\nUpdating test procedures, writing work orders/plans and test reports and supporting test and non-conformance reviews.\nMinimum of an HNC or NVQ Level 4 in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role >5 years\n If you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please apply!\n\nLine Up Aviation has carved its own place in the recruitment of Aviation and Aerospace personnel all over the world for more than 30 years.
