Freelance Electrical Test Engineer (EICRs & Remedial Works)\n\nLocation: London & Southeast\n\nRate: £200–£250 per day (depending on experience)\n\nContract: 12 months min\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Freelance Electrical Test Engineer to support a growing portfolio of commercial compliance and testing contracts across London and the Southeast.\n\nWorking within high-quality commercial properties and prestigious client environments, this opportunity is ideally suited to someone who takes pride in carrying out thorough inspections, producing accurate reports, and delivering a professional service. We are looking for quality-focused engineers who understand the importance of compliance and attention to detail, rather than simply working to volume targets.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced tester seeking consistent ongoing work with an established and growing electrical contractor.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial properties\n\t\nConducting inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671\n\t\nProducing accurate, detailed and compliant certification and reports\n\t\nIdentifying defects and correctly coding observations\n\t\nCarrying out associated remedial works where required\n\t\nLiaising professionally with clients, site personnel and management teams\n\t\nWorking safely and efficiently within occupied commercial environments\n\t\nMaintaining high standards of workmanship, compliance and documentation\n\nRequirements\n\nEssential\n\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification\n\t\nCity & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification)\n\t\nProven experience carrying out commercial EICRs\n\t\nStrong working knowledge of BS 7671\n\t\nFull UK driving licence\n\t\nExcellent communication and client-facing skills\n\t\nAbility to complete reports accurately and within agreed timescales\n\t\nAbility to work independently and manage workload effectively\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience working within commercial and high-end environments\n\t\nExperience carrying out remedial works\n\t\nIPAF and/or PASMA certification\n\t\nExperience delivering compliance contracts\n\t\nAmbition to progress within compliance, testing or supervisory roles\n\nFor more information regarding the above role, please contact Stephen Tiigah – (url removed)
