Immediate W2 contract position available in Headland, AL.
Estimated Duration: 12 months
Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
· 0 - 3 years of related experience. Engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
· These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
· Engineers must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
· They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
· Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
· Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
· Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices
· Participate in process hazard analyses
Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 4 year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical )
· 0-3 years’ experience in Engineering or similar role
· Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
· Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
· Experience with AC and DC systems
· Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location
