Job Title: Electrical/Electronic Component Technician\n Location: United Kingdom\n Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent\n Salary: Competitive (based on experience)\n Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, \n\nJob Purpose\n\nA well-established engineering organisation is seeking a skilled technician to assess, repair, and test electrical and electronic automotive components. This role involves working to internal procedures, original equipment specifications, and defence standards where applicable.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAssess returned electrical/electronic products and determine feasibility for repair\nDismantle and rebuild units to required standards\nPerform component-level fault finding, PCB rework, and repair\nEvaluate parts availability and commercial viability of repairs\nComplete accurate job cards and bill of materials documentation\nTest components and assemblies to OEM specifications\nReport faults and non-conformances to the Workshop Supervisor\nMaintain high-quality workmanship in line with production schedules\nComply with health & safety, quality, and workshop procedures\nSupport wider workshop activities and ad-hoc tasks as needed\n\nRequirements\n\nTechnical Skills & Knowledge:\n\nProven experience in electronic fault finding to component level\nStrong PCB rework skills including soldering and repair techniques\nAbility to read and interpret schematics and circuit diagrams\nLogical problem-solving approach and attention to detail\nFamiliarity with workshop best practices and quality standards\nCompetence in Microsoft Excel and Word (or willingness to learn)Personal Attributes:\n\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nGood organisational ability and multitasking capability\nPositive, proactive mindset and eagerness to learnQualifications ():\n\nHNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering\nPrevious experience in automotive, defence, or related sectors
