Job Description

There’s a permanent opportunity for you here as an Electrical Supervisor to join our University of Lincoln contract


The Role

  • Maintain and enforce high-quality standards for all electrical works.
  • Act as the NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor, verifying electrical installations and issuing certificates where required.
  • Act as the Electrical Appointed Person, overseeing safety for high-risk electrical activities.
  • Oversee and guide the electrical team to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to team members.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of electrical installations, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Generating quotes and billable works documentation.
  • To liaise on a regular basis with the Client to ensure that all works – PPM and Reactive are being carried out in a satisfactory manner and within the requirements of the contract and without disruption.
  • Deal with all breaches of discipline at the earliest possible opportunity, referring serious cases to the Contract Manager immediately
  • Identify training requirements of all staff and put forward to the Contract Manger for incorporation into the company Training Programme.


Hours of Work

  • 40 Hrs a week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
  • In addition to the standard week, we operate a call out rota which is for 7 days, Monday – Friday 17:00 until 08:00, weekends 24 hour cover. You will be required to offer support 1 week in 5 for escalation purposes.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor status or eligibility to obtain it.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 in Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations. Health and Safety certification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Extensive experience in maintaining, testing, and installing electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage planned, reactive, and project-based work.
  • Experience of working in a University / Education scenario would be beneficial as would a general maintenance background.
  • While prior experience as an Electrical Appointed Person would be beneficial, full training can be provided for the right candidate.
