Position Title: Electrical Supervisor
Plant Location: Bath, PA
About the Role:
Keystone Cement Company is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to supervise and support hourly union employees in the electrical department, ensuring safety compliance in all areas of the position’s responsibility, and providing technical expertise in electrical area to ensure efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer safety in all areas of the position’s responsibility. Exhibit knowledge of and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, counsel and discipline employees for non-compliance, conduct safety topic meetings and task training, perform inspections and accident investigations as required. Cooperate with all external inspectors as necessary. Identify and correct safety hazards.
- Provide the necessary maintenance and technical services in electrical and automation areas to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and minimum downtime of plant operations.
- Perform daily inspections on critical pieces of equipment throughout area of responsibility.
- Use the equipment history files to improve cost and up time of equipment in assigned areas.
- Research and order parts and materials for all jobs and projects in assigned areas not currently in inventory stores.
- Control material flow, schedule work and shift assignments, and maintain time sheets for cost accounting daily.
- Work with Management in analyzing and forecasting of electrical maintenance budget.
- Assist Manager in planning major outages and all phases of maintenance in area of responsibility.
- Recommend and research cost savings projects, major jobs and capital appropriations for area of responsibility. This includes initial budget of labor and costs for these projects.
- Write monthly reports on equipment status and work accomplished.
- Effectively administer and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of collective bargaining agreement. Issue discipline according to Keystone Code of Conduct. Ensure that all electrical employees understand and follow company policies, safety rules, environmental compliance and labor agreements.
- Support, motivate, and train the workforce to keep a productive team operating. Conduct performance evaluations, when requested, and propose discipline and other actions when necessary. Administer and monitor the technical training for the Electrical Department to ensure quality performance in all areas of responsibility. Identify additional training needs and provide training and development opportunities to employees.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in electrical technology.
- Minimum of three years electrical supervisory experience in heavy industrial environment.
- Knowledge of cement facilities and equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standards for industrial workplace safety, environmental compliance, dependability, and professional workmanship is essential.
- Effective communication, demonstrated organizational and delegation skills.
- Successfully interact in a team environment.
- Physically inspect plant properties where climbing steps, ladders, and physical exertion at high elevations is required.
- Wear the required MSHA safety equipment, including respirator (when needed).
- Work in dusty, noisy, high temperature environment in all types of weather conditions.
