Responsibilities:
- Lead daily work assignments across all three shifts, seven days a week, ensuring consistent electrical coverage and responsiveness.
- Schedule and oversee crew training, maintaining up-to-date certifications and safety protocols aligned with union standards.
- Manage Electric Shop inventory, including spare parts for consumables and rebuilt components, to support uninterrupted operations.
- Cross-train electrical crews to build proficiency across multiple areas of the plant, enhancing flexibility and reducing downtime.
- Coordinate overhead crane inspections and repairs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all electrical repairs and upgrades, enabling traceability and audit readiness.
- Train crews on new equipment, ensuring readiness to maintain and troubleshoot advanced systems used in metal tubing production.
- Develop electrical plans and budgets to support modernization efforts and eliminate obsolete equipment.
- Eliminate temporary wiring by implementing permanent, code-compliant solutions that improve safety and reliability.
- Coordinate infrared (IR) testing, motor testing, and preventive maintenance (PM) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure PM work is completed timely, with findings acted upon and schedules adjusted to minimize operational impact.
- Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure crews work safely and consistently across shifts.
- Track electrical delays across all areas, analyze root causes, and develop strategic plans to reduce future occurrences.
- Support high-voltage and control systems critical to metal forming, annealing, and cutting operations.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to align electrical work with tube mill schedules and minimize production interruptions.
- Ensure compliance with union labor agreements, coordinating work assignments and training in accordance with negotiated terms.
- Monitor and maintain PLCs, drives, and automation systems that control tube shaping and finishing processes.
- Lead troubleshooting during mill downtime, providing rapid diagnostics and repair to restore operations efficiently.
- Champion energy efficiency initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce electrical consumption in high-load equipment.
