Job Description

Title: Electrical Superintendent

Locations: Jackson, Mississippi-1 super needed

Jackson, Georgia-1 super needed

Covington, Georgia-1 super needed

Duration: 12 months contract to hire

Pay: $50 - $60 +

Overtime is 1.5x

Schedule: 50-60 hours a week

Start date: ASAP

General Summary: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations and supervising personnel performing installation, maintenance, and repair work on assigned projects. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements, and reports to project leadership.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in commercial or industrial construction environments
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using industry-standard diagnostic tools
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and best practices
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain specialized service vehicles and equipment
  • Professional demeanor and strong organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency with computers and standard software tools
  • Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, CPR, First Aid)
  • Ability to manage documentation and project information in an organized manner
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to respond to urgent issues or on-call situations as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise field personnel, including onboarding, time tracking, reporting, and performance management
  • Promote and enforce safety standards; may serve as site safety lead when required
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities to ensure efficient project execution
  • Review project scope and organize work to align with schedule and budget goals
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through planning and coordination methods
  • Maintain required personal tools and ensure proper use of equipment
  • Ensure adherence to all organizational policies, safety procedures, and jobsite requirements
  • Complete reporting and documentation as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Relevant trade training, certification, or apprenticeship
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in construction or a related field
  • Prior supervisory or field leadership experience

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in various outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, and other elements
  • Use of standard construction site facilities
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and mechanical lifts
  • Work in confined or restricted spaces as required
  • Use of personal tools and equipment as needed for the role
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, nights, and travel if necessary

Physical & Functional Requirements:

  • Ability to distinguish colors and visual details as required for job tasks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and instructions
  • Safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures
  • Physical ability to bend, climb, lift, and perform manual labor tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently carry lighter materials
  • Capability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with or without correction)
