Position Summary


The General Foreman / Electrical Superintendent (E8) oversees multiple electrical crews or work areas andis responsible forcoordinatingmanpower, scheduling, sequencing, safety, and quality across assigned projects or scopes. This role focuses on execution, leadership, and coordination rather than daily hands-on electrical work.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the work of multiple electrical crews andforemen
  • Plan and managemanpowerallocation to meet project schedules and milestones
  • Coordinate work sequencing with project management, other trades, and clients
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure proper execution
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and progress across all assigned work areas
  • Identifyand resolve scope gaps, design conflicts, and constructability issues
  • Enforce company and site safety policies and procedures
  • Lead site-wide job hazard analyses (JHAs), safety planning, and toolbox talk alignment
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and project requirements
  • Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Track labor performance and provide progress updates to project leadership
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, andlogistics
  • Mentor and developforemenand field leadership
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning
  • Support schedule recovery and productivity improvement efforts
  • Perform limited hands-on electrical work only as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with role responsibilities


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired
  • State-issued Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable)
  • Operational understanding and working knowledge of the current NECcodeand industry best practices
  • Extensive field leadership experience in industrial or commercial electrical construction
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and complex work scopes
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills


Required Certifications and Training

  • Journeyman Electrician license
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety
  • NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety)
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Advanced safety leadership training ()
  • Project management or scheduling training ()
  • Jobsite-specific and client-required training as applicable
  • Arc Flash Awareness Training



Tools & Equipment

  • Must provide andmaintaintheir own basic hand tools customary to the electrical trade
  • All hand tools must be in safe working condition andcomply withcompany and jobsite safety requirements


Experience

  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program
  • Typically10+ years of progressive electrical trade experience, including multi-crew supervision


Physical Requirements

  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to walk, climb, and access all areas of the jobsite
  • Ability to work in industrial environments with varying weather and site conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, FR clothing, and fall protection


Work Environment

  • Industrial and commercial construction jobsites
  • Indoor and outdoor work
  • Exposure to construction hazards, energized systems, and heavy equipment
  • Work hours may include nights, weekends, and overtime asrequired


Supervision

  • Supervises Electrical Foremen and field leadership
  • Reports to the Electrical Superintendent, Project Manager, or Operations Manager


Safety Expectations

  • Set and enforce a strong safety culture across all crews
  • Ensure consistent implementation of safety policies and procedures
  • Support and reinforce stop-work authority
  • Hold field leadership accountable for safety performance and compliance
