GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Provides quality assurance inspections for electrical manufacturing. Provides guidance and training to lower level electrical inspectors.

DUTIES

• Performs detailed evaluation of electronic and cable/wiring harness assemblies.
• Records and analyzes failure data.
• Performs 1st article inspection and documents findings.
• Present finished product to the Customer.
• Use CostPoint for Acceptance of Materials, inventory status, general part information.
• Performing process audits and process verification.
• Lead quality improvement task with internal customers on basic issues.
• Perform as a Lead in interdepartmental and/or cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some college
• Requires at least 8 years' experience in the area of Electronic Mfg. Production.
• Requires at least 4 years of experience in the area of inspection of electrical manufacturing (wire harnesses, printed circuit assemblies, electrical assemblies)
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry.
• Ability to inspect printed circuit boards to J-STD-001 and Cable/Wiring Harnesses all classes or as required by Customer requirements.
• Must be able to use a microscope for extended periods.  
• Component recognition for through-hole and basic SMT assemblies.
• Able to read assembly drawings and understand BOM's. 
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of ESD safety requirements.
• Manual dexterity required.
• Experience leading groups in quality improvement task.
• Performed First Article AS9102 reports and presented product to customer.
• ASQ CQIA Certified Quality Improvement Associate certification a Plus

• May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
• Must be able to distinguish and judge three-dimensional depth.
