Position Overview

Quality Plus Services (QPS) is seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Electrical Purchasing Agent to support procurement operations on a high-profile semiconductor construction project.

This role is critical to maintaining schedule integrity, cost control, and field productivity. The Electrical Purchasing Agent will directly impact project profitability by ensuring materials are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and compliant with stringent semiconductor facility standards.

This is not a clerical purchasing role — this is a construction-driven, schedule-critical position requiring urgency, technical understanding, and ownership.

Core Responsibilities

1. Electrical Procurement Execution

• Procure all electrical materials including:
• • Switchgear, transformers, panelboards, MCCs
  • Conduit (EMT, RMC), cable tray systems
  • Wire & cable (medium voltage and low voltage)
  • Lighting systems and controls
  • Grounding materials and specialty cleanroom-rated components
• Identify and manage long-lead equipment impacting critical path.
• Issue RFQs, perform bid leveling, and recommend vendor awards.
• Negotiate pricing, freight, lead times, and payment terms.

2. Project Schedule Alignment

• Work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to forecast material demand.
• Align purchase timing with installation sequencing.
• Proactively prevent field downtime due to material shortages.
• Track delivery dates and escalate vendor delays immediately.

3. Cost Control & Profit Protection

• Monitor committed costs against project budgets.
• Support buyout strategies to maximize project margins.
• Review change orders affecting material scope and pricing.
• Maintain accurate procurement logs and cost tracking documentation.

4. Vendor & Compliance Management

• Build and manage vendor relationships aligned with QPS performance standards.
• Ensure materials meet project specifications and submittal requirements.
• Coordinate with quality control to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation compliant with Intel site standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing experience in electrical or industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials and systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in high-spec or mission-critical environments .
• Proven ability to manage long-lead procurement items.
• Strong negotiation skills and cost discipline.
• Proficiency with procurement software and Excel-based cost tracking.

Experience

• Semiconductor or cleanroom construction experience.
• Previous work on similar high-tech facilities.
• Experience supporting tool install scopes and AMHS infrastructure.
• Familiarity with BIM-coordinated procurement processes.
