Electrical Estimator / Application Engineer

Location: Wixom, MI (100% Onsite)

Pay Range: $100,000 – $120,000 / year + Full Benefits

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an Electrical Proposal Engineer for a fast-scaling manufacturer of critical power equipment in Wixom, MI. In this key technical role, you will work directly with engineers and sales teams to turn raw, incomplete customer requests into safe, accurately priced, custom power testing solutions.

You will own the quoting process from start to finish—analyzing electrical specs, sizing equipment, calculating costs, and building winning technical proposals—all from a stable office environment.

What You’ll Do Daily

• RFQ Analysis: Review incoming customer requests for non-standard, custom electrical testing systems.
• Electrical Sizing & Calculations: Calculate power specs (kW, kVA, voltage, phase, frequency, and duty cycles) to select and size appropriate gear.
• Cost Build-Up & Proposals: Determine installation formats (portable, trailer-mounted, or containerized) and build detailed commercial proposals.
• Vendor Sourcing: Request and evaluate third-party vendor quotes for ancillary gear (transformers, cables, custom trailers).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal engineering and sales to finalize project scope and deliver high-impact proposals.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ Years Experience: Background in technical estimating, electrical product pricing, inside sales engineering, or proposal development.
• Electrical Fundamentals: Strong understanding of voltage, power distribution, and electrical concepts (via degree, tech certificate, or hands-on trade/quoting experience).
• Detail-Oriented & Methodical: Able to read customer specs, catch missing technical details, and build accurate cost sheets.
• Location: Must be able to work onsite full-time in Wixom, MI.
• Education: Electrical Engineering degree
