JOB PURPOSE: The basic function of the Project Manager is to act in the capacity as Project Manager to manage the operations of the Company’s jobs assigned to this position with optimum: efficiency, safety, adherence to schedules, the handling of materials and supplies.

Expectations:

The Project Manager reports directly to the DOO and Vice President.

The following report directly to Project Manager:

• Lead men

• All workers on jobs assigned to the Project Manager and Foreman

• Determines most effective schedule for job operations, assigns employee work schedules, and manages workflow.

• Evaluates performance of all positions reporting to this position.

• Implements Company discipline policies, as and when appropriate.

• Must follow all company policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills:

The use of analytical and observational skills which demonstrate an ability to supervise others, follow company policy, interact with customers, handle construction equipment in difficult situations.

• Advanced electrical knowledge or in training

• Electrical hazards training

• Emergency procedures

• General work site safety

• Hazard recognition

• Understanding work orders and plans

• Vehicle safety, safe operation, and driving

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Required: High school or equivalent

Preferred: Some trade school or business college courses

Experience

Minimum: Five years’ experience in electrical installations.

Preferred: Five years or more in the electrical construction or general construction industry, including at least three years of supervisory experience.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Class A driver license within six months of employment.

• Possession of, or ability to obtain within six months, Electrical Hazard Awareness Procedures and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Working conditions:

• Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, adaptability and resilience in a wide variety of work situations.

• Nature of business results in many tight or continually changing deadlines.

• General exposure to outside environmental elements, with low to medium noise, exposure to heat and cold.
