Electrical Project Engineer – Solar (Commercial & Industrial)

Solar Gain is seeking a driven Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects. If you enjoy being in the field, solving real-world challenges, and working alongside high-performing teams—this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Operations team, you’ll partner closely with the Electrical Construction Manager and field teams to keep projects running smoothly from pre-construction through commissioning.
Key responsibilities include:

Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution of solar projects

Manage material orders, inventory, and equipment readiness

Coordinate submittals, change orders, and project documentation

Conduct site visits to monitor safety, progress, and quality

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local codes

Assist with commissioning, reporting, and project closeout

Collaborate with internal teams and interface with customers as needed

This is a safety-sensitive role involving rooftop work, exposure to weather conditions, and proximity to energized electrical systems. Comprehensive training is provided, and strict safety protocols are always followed.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Journeyman Electrician certification

2+ years in a similar role (solar industry experience )

Strong understanding of NEC, UBC, and electrical systems

Project management and organizational skills

Proficiency with computers and technical tools

OSHA-10 certification (or willingness to obtain)

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Work Environment

Mix of field and office work

Travel required (weekly) across Arizona and California

Work at heights (rooftops up to 30+ feet)

Occasional weekend work depending on project needs
