Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the successful execution of electrical construction projects under the direction of the Project Manager. This role ensures project tasks are completed on schedule, within budgeted labor targets, in compliance with quality standards, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, to ensure efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist with contract administration and project documentation for assigned projects.
- Support execution of project activities to ensure on-time and within-scope completion.
- Conduct on-site visits to monitor project layout, material staging, equipment usage, and installation progress.
- Track project schedules, manpower, and material deliveries.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project partners.
- Interface with owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Participate in project meetings, coordination sessions, and trade-related activities.
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager, Operations Manager, General Superintendent, and Human Resources team.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change documentation.
- Assist in resolving field issues and construction challenges.
- Support project closeout activities including documentation and turnover packages.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure project work aligns with company quality standards and safety requirements.
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow established operating procedures and project performance standards related to cost, time, and quality.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field .
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
- 1–3 years of electrical construction, project engineering, or field experience .
- Completion of or enrollment in an electrical apprenticeship program is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High-level interpersonal skills and ability to work within team environments.
- Proficient with construction technology and software (Microsoft Office, project management platforms, document control systems).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced construction environment.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Combination of office-based and field-based responsibilities.
- Regular jobsite visits required.
- Ability to work extended hours as project demands require.
