Freelance Electrical Project Engineer Urgently Needed In Central London - Min 3 Months - £350 - £400 per day (DOE)

Location: Near Liverpool Street Station, Central London

Contract: Freelance (3 Months)

Rate: £350–£400 per day (DOE)

Start: Immediate

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major commercial construction project in the heart of the City of London, close to Liverpool Street Station, on a 3-month freelance contract.

Working alongside the Project Manager and wider MEP team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of electrical installations from procurement through to commissioning and handover, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day electrical works on site.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.

Review electrical drawings, technical submissions, and design changes.

Monitor programme, progress, and quality of installation.

Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.

Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CDM Regulations, and all health & safety requirements.

Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.

Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

Proven experience delivering commercial building projects, ideally on large-scale office, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.

Strong knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment, and BMS systems.

Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple workstreams.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services ).
