Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support delivery of remedial electrical works on a live station project in Birmingham. \nThis is a contract role for a minimum of three months, working within a rail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating electrical works packages, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and programme requirements.
\nThe role will be primarily day works; however, flexibility is required to undertake night shifts where necessary to coordinate with site teams and station access constraints.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage and coordinate electrical remedial works packages on site\n\nInterface with site supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives\n\nEnsure works are delivered in accordance with Network Rail standards and project specifications\n\nOversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities\n\nReview and approve RAMS and technical documentation\n\nMonitor programme, progress, and quality of works\n\nEnsure compliance with H&S and rail safety requirements in a live station environment\n\nProvide technical support and resolve site-based engineering issues\n\nScope of Works / Systems\n\nThe remedial scope will include:\n\nLV Distribution systems\n\nCentral Monitoring Systems (CMS)\n\nUninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)\n\nLighting systems\n\nVariable Speed Drive (VSD) replacement and repair\n\nSmall power installations\n\nRequirements\n\nEssential:\n\nPrevious experience delivering electrical works within a Network Rail station environment\n\nStrong understanding of rail standards and working within live operational sites\n\nValid Sentinel Card\n\nValid ECS Card\n\nHNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering\n\nProven experience managing subcontractors and site teams\n\nAbility to work occasional night shifts as required\nDesirable:\n\nExperience delivering remedial or upgrade works within existing rail infrastructure\n\nTesting & commissioning knowledge across LV and building services systems
