Electrical Project Engineer – Leading IPP BESS Project - 12 Month Contract\n\nWould you like to play a pivotal role in the electrical build out of the UKs most impressive flexible portfolio?\n\nLonger term the successful candidate can expect to work on the delivery of gas peaking and battery projects including the delivery of an integrated hydrogen ready gas peaking / battery plant.\n\nPlease continue to read if this role could be for you…\n\nLocation:\n\nOn site just outside of London - 5 days a week (45 hour weekly contract)\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nReporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer (Electrical) shall be part of a team responsible for delivering the project engineering for a fleet of utility-scale hydrogen ready gas peaking and energy storage projects, initially focused on a hybrid battery and thermal project close to London. This shall include:\n\nDesign Co-ordination of electrical engineering packages:\n\n * Co-ordinate the design inputs from all contractors responsible for design on site\n\n * Proactively identify design issues early and resolve these issues or escalate to the head of engineering\n\n * Lead design co-ordination meetings between all contractors focused on responsible engineering packages\n\n * Manage contractors’ due dates and ensuring contractors deliver their required design deliverables correctly and on time\n\n * Representing the company in meetings with designers, ESO, DNOs, suppliers and on site teams\n\n * Support the Engineering Director in developing designs and specifications and evaluating contractors for future battery and hydrogen ready gas peaking plants\n\nDocument Control for electrical engineering packages:\n\n * Manage all electrical drawings and calculations required for the project\n\n * Ensure correct and latest revisions of all drawings and calculations are used by all contractors in the design, development and construction of the project.\n\nCommunicating Design Information between Contractors and to Site Team for one or more projects:\n\n * Based on site 5 days a week reporting updates and project progress to the Engineering Manager\n\n * Review design developments with site based team and to assist project management team in any design related issues that arise during construction\n\nUndertaking an Owners Engineer role from an electrical engineering point of view, providing review/ high level specification of electrical design work undertaken by contractors for both their own and other projects constructed by the team:\n\n * Review of contractor designs and calculations\n\n * Earthing designs\n\n * Protection / Fault levels\n\n * Grid studies – P28, G5/4, G99, load flow analysis\n\n * Transformers, switchgear etc\n\nExperience / Qualifications\n\n * 2-5 years within a renewables or energy environment (gas peaking plants, energy storage, wind, solar) supporting construction projects\n\n * MEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent\n\nWould you appreciate further information regarding this senior appointment?
