Are you an Electrical Project Engineer looking for a new role?\nOur client in Stourbridge have urgent requirements for an Electrical Project Engineer to join their team.\nStart and finishing Times: Day shift- 5:00-17:00 –Mon-Fri 40hrs basic hours, staggered (weekend flexibility required)\nDirect Report: Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Director\nJob description:\nTo enhance the reliability of manufacturing equipment and optimise performance of all plant and foundry equipment. Across two manufacturing plants, responsible for maintaining equipment which is utilised in the production of high-quality ductile iron and steel castings for turbo/manifold and general engineering sectors to maintain the company’s high-quality standards.\nEssential requirements:\nApprentice trained with relevant certification and qualifications. Minimum; City & Guilds 17th edition Wiring regulations (Level 3 Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (2015) trained, Able to perform electrical control circuits and 3 phase power supplies, and fault finding on AC/DC systems.

Able to read LADDER diagrams and PLC literate and circuit diagrams. IPAF (Powered Access Federation) MEWPs (mobile elevating work platforms)\nWorking as a key member of the engineering team ensuring optimum plant performance in a foundry process through proactive PPM systems. Ability to maintain a high level of reliability and punctuality, and to complete tasks within an agreed period.

Experience in foundry processes and equipment is . Determined, organised and disciplined. As a priority, working safely with tools and equipment with an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

Working in a busy production plant. The role requires a high level of flexibility (overtime and weekends) and commitment to work. Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work on own initiative is imperative.\nDuties and responsibilities:\nTo ensure everyone is working in a safe environment\nTo ensure foundry plant and ancillary equipment is always operated efficiently minimising all types of waste.\nUndertake fault diagnosis and repair in a heavy engineering foundry environment\nExcellent communication skills and teamwork\nWorking safely with equipment and wearing the correct PPE at all times\nBring to the attention of the foundry management any practice that you consider unsafe or illegal anywhere within the company\nAt all times, ensure that company’s health and safety policy in understood and upheld\nDevelop, identify, improve and review risk assessments within the engineering department\nSupervise and control subcontractors on site.

Ensure the company’s policy is implemented including review of method statements and permits to work\nRegular checks and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems\nUnderstand written instructions and comply with company processes and procedures\nFollow and adhere to manual handling and lifting guidance\nMaintain general housekeeping, cleanliness of working areas\nSafe handling of waste and spillages\nEnsure all accidents and near misses are recorded in the accident book or near miss form respectively\nWork independently and on own initiative\nPLC literate and able to read LADDER diagrams\nAbility to read circuit diagrams\nExperience of electrical installations\nInstallation, maintenance, testing and repairing of manufacturing equipment\nIdentify projects to optimise plant performance, reduce cost or improve reliability and output\nFault finding and problem solving on electrical control circuits\nRead electrical drawings\nAssist in the development of PPM (planned preventative maintenance) systems and scheduling maintenance systems\nMaintain electrical equipment, wiring, motors, switches in good repair and operating conditions\nDiagnose and remedy faulty equipment to maintain safe operation and productivity to avoid shutdown or downtime\nFollow and respect company purchasing procedures\nMonitor maintenance and purchasing costs\nCreate a culture of continuous improvement.\nRecommend projects to improve business performance.\nRecommend and implement Professional Maintenance programs for electrical\nEnsure permit to work for all non-routine activities.\nWork with the H&S advisor/management to improve health and safety / environmental compliance.\nIdentify root cause of persistent downtime and recommend plans to improve.\nCo-ordinate improved OEE on all key plants.\nFormulate pre-use checks and shutdown processes\nSafe operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric equipment\nMaintaining equipment in safe working condition\nReporting any concerns with equipment to supervision or management\nReporting concerns directly related to casting quality\nAssisting team members to complete daily tasks\nReporting concerns about equipment in poor condition\nMaintain tool cleaning and storage procedures\nPromote ideas to optimise productivity and manufacturing output\nParticipate in the development and improvement of foundry practices and procedures\nParticipate and feedback concerns with design and development of cast products, materials, testing and process studies\nTo ensure work is inspected according to company procedures\nTo follow and read work instructions, standards, and care points carefully\nReporting concerns which relate to increased processing time and reduce output\nTo communicate with team members and supervision to ensure the area is working efficiently\nReporting concerns with raw materials used within the process\nChecking and maintaining stocks of spares\nIdentify, recommend and maintain agreed levels critical spares\nLiaison with key strategic suppliers and stockists\nAdvantageous skills:\nSiemens S7, CAM programming, Confined space training. Working at height.
