Overview: Perform maintenance, repair, and improvements on machinery used in food manufacturing. The role focuses on upkeep and documentation of electrical and control systems, handling both hardware and software elements to support reliable production.

  • Maintain and update documentation for all electrical and control systems.
  • Assist mechanics and electro-mechanics in diagnosing and repairing electrical and control-related faults.
  • Provide training and coordinate electro-mechanic activities across shifts as required.
  • Occasionally work offsite to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Ensure production equipment is serviced in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections safely while equipment is running when required.
  • Execute corrective, preventive, and scheduled repairs during downtime following vendor and company specifications.
  • Work independently or with a mechanic to identify failures and restore equipment to production quickly.
  • Complete tasks in compliance with government regulations, GMP, safety standards, quality control, and company procedures.
  • Maintain secondary systems including steam, hot/chilled water, pneumatic air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control.
  • Keep accurate work records aligned with work orders, backlog, and assignment systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include travel for parts procurement, training, or additional responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and report any potential contamination or unusual activity to a supervisor immediately.

Qualifications: AS/AAS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience. Relevant military or high school training with hands-on experience in machine and electrical control system installation is acceptable. Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi control software and preventive maintenance systems is . Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control drawings, including machine layouts, control drawings, and P&ID. Working knowledge of control system projects and basic troubleshooting for A/B-Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi platforms. Competence in basic and advanced mathematical calculations and unit conversions. Proficient at completing maintenance documentation and reading work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
