Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Purpose

Performs electric advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis and corrective actions, performing systematic analysis of problems and improvement opportunities and providing support as a technical referent, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.


Main Activities

Inspects, diagnoses and performs advanced electric repairs, replacements and upgrades.

- Follows up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness.

- Makes complex failure analysis, establishing the problems' root cause and taking actions to avoid repetitions.

- Inspects any electric equipment according to maintenance plans.

- Performs reviews of emergency groups' repairs and complex failure analysis.

- Plans subassemblies policies.

- Interprets electrical drawings.

- Verifies the correct functioning of tools, instruments and accessories checking they fulfill with the specifications.

- Develops and tests preventive complex maintenance plans.

- Carries out analysis and proposal of investments in equipment and machine upgrades and replacements.

- Plans corrective actions for scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns, based on the inspections performed or the problems diagnosed.

- Performs or follows up predictive maintenance techniques.

- Plans and guarantees the availability of resources, materials and spare parts, ensuring a suitable minimum stock and the definition of the required information on the maintenance systems.

- Interact with other areas.

- Executes machine lock outs and tag outs.

- Researches spare parts requirements and new material utilization.

- Defines maintenance strategies for each equipment (corrective, preventive or predictive).

- Updates information in the maintenance systems and performs maintenance reports.


Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

· 2 to 3 years' industrial maintenance experience or technical degree, associate’s degree, certificate or equivalent in related field

· Knowledge of mechanical & transmission equipment

· Knowledge of AC motor systems

· Knowledge of power distribution and motor control systems (high & medium Voltage)

· Knowledge of equipment inspection techniques

· Knowledge of predictive maintenance

· Knowledge of instrumentation systems

· Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic controllers)
