Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionJob Description*Adhere to all workplace safety and environmental programs
*Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production and facility equipment in a safe and efficient manner
*This position requires working at heights, frequent movement throughout facility, positioning oneself in manners to move under, around, and through tight places, reaching, ascending/descending stairs/ladders, moving up to 75 pounds both vertically and from place to place, working in extremes of temperature, both hot and cold, and entering confined spaces.
*Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to equipment
*Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
*Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to welding, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair
*Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
*Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments
*Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and facility
*Operate fork truck or lift as needed
*Troubleshoot problems as they arise, work with operators to drill down on root causes
*Always clean up, maintain a safe working environment
*Keep a positive attitude and work well as a team
*Ability to self-start, yet execute instructions as directed
*Other duties as assigned
*Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams
*Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools
*Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices
*Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems
*Adhering to state and local regulations
*Completing work orders on time
*Documenting the work completed and materials used
*Working with other electricians, general contractors and other team members
*Keep production operating free of electrical problems
*Ensure all Lock-out/Tag-out instructions are properly executed by ensuring that no short cuts are taken and that the equipment being locked-out is tested to confirm that no energy is available after Tag-out and prior to work commencing
*Maintain Shift Logs and document preventive maintenance work as directed by Supervisor
*Perform the housekeeping duties in the Electrical Shop and work areas
*Maintain and upkeep all shop tools used
*Report and document all injuries and hazards to Supervisor
*Assist other Techs. with work assignments
*Perform any and all duties assigned by Supervisor, whether the assignments are electrically related or not
*Must be able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime when required
*Must have a working knowledge of computers, and PLCs opportunities

*High school education or equivalent
*Computer user
*Five years" experience working as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing setting
*Skilled at TIG, MIG, Stick welding
*PLC & programming experience
*Able to read, understand directions, and communicate in English
*Candidate must be flexible, and results orientated
*Must have great communication and people skills
*Must be able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime when required
*Must have a working knowledge of computers, and PLCs
