Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer | Manufacturing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business based in Thatcham.
\n
Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for providing both planned and reactive maintenance support across a range of automated production and packaging equipment. This role would suit a proactive engineer looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance activities across the site
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding to minimise downtime
- Maintain and repair a variety of automated production machinery and control systems
- Diagnose faults on:\n
- \n
- PLC-controlled equipment
- AC/DC drives and motors
- Servo drive systems
- Inverters
- Single and three-phase electrical systems

\n
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Monitor equipment performance, downtime and overall efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement and fault prevention initiatives
- Record maintenance activities using a CMMS system
- Support machine upgrades, refurbishments and improvement projects
- Assist with developing operator knowledge and equipment understanding
- Contribute to site engineering and capital projects

What We're Looking For
\n
- \n
- Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent
- Multi-skilled engineering background with a strong electrical bias
- Experience working within manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging or a similar industrial environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of PLCs, drives, motors and industrial electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to maintenance
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset

- 18th Edition qualification
- Time-served apprenticeship
- 5+ years' post-apprenticeship experience
