ELECTRICAL GENERAL FOREMAN
Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION: Directs multiple production phases within Company and ensures production budget and project schedules are met. Supervises Foremen and/or Lead Worker Supervisors. Performs under the general direction of Superintendent.
TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
• Advises foremen regarding supervision of lead workers and/or employees.
• Ensures safe working conditions in production areas. Assists supervisors in conducting safety meetings.
• Reviews project specifications and engineering drawings and provides input for project build strategies and project schedules.
• Reviews work stations to ensure proper resources are available for workforce to work in the most efficient manner and production performance indicators are being meet.
• Coordinates work assignments with foremen to ensure workforce is deployed effectively.
• Reviews employee performance and provides necessary training needed to enhance employee skills and productivity.
• Monitors project budgets and schedule performance and provides input for project cost.
• Ensures quality of department products, drawing adherence, procedure adherence and quality objectives are meet.
• Coordinates with superintendent and quality control manager to ensure product compliance with company standards and specifications.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Comprehensive knowledge of specific area of responsibility (i.e. electrical, welding).
• Considerable knowledge of maritime operations and company policies and procedures.
• Ability to comprehend project contracts, specifications, schedules, work plans, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to manage departmental budgets and work schedules.
• Must be able to overcome obstacles and complete assignments timely.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: High school diploma or GED with minimum of three years' production supervisory experience required. Five years' production supervision and Microsoft Office experience .
