Company Description:
Swain Electric, Inc., a family owned commercial and industrial electrical contractor in the Arizona market is accepting applications for the position of Experienced Estimator. This is a hands-on role in the corporate office that will work directly with project managers and works with a team of 1-2 other estimators.
Responsibilities:
- Works with Senior Estimator, PM’s and other estimator(s) to maintain an on-going, prioritized bid-list.
- Prepares estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Work with Senior Estimator to manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors.
- Maintains cost data base by entering data and connecting to supplier databases.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Establish and maintain working relationship with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participates in pre-construction hand-off process
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of estimating experience on commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects
- Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office software
- Significant experience with electrical estimating software
- Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- Strong understanding of construction processes
- Ability to organize data
- Detail oriented and the ability to review work product from the 30,000 ft level
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
