Job Title: Senior Electrical Estimator
Location: Apopka, FL
Salary Rate: $100,000 - $160,000
My client needs an electrical estimator based in Florida. The estimator should know about various commercial electrical systems. If you have 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in a new construction environment, please apply!
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed quantity take-offs, labor assessments, and material cost estimates for electrical systems
- Analyze project plans, specifications, addenda, and scopes of work to determine accurate project requirements
- Develop complete bid proposals, including subcontractor and vendor scope reviews, pricing evaluations, and qualification statements
- Manage communication with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit, review, and level quotes
- Prepare and present estimate summaries, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments to management
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to clarify project conditions and expectations
- Maintain and refine estimating tools, templates, and historical cost data to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Support project hand-off meetings and collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimate to execution
- Mentor junior estimators by providing guidance, technical support, and quality review
- Ensure all estimates meet internal standards for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
Skills Required
- 1+ years of experience in electrical estimating, contracting, or related construction disciplines
- Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical system design interpretation, and construction documentation
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with estimating software and digital take-off tools strongly
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, labor productivity, and industry cost drivers
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
