Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, project plans, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.

  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.

  • Prepare accurate and competitive bids in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes and negotiate pricing where needed.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, and construction methods.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits when required.

  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks in project scopes.

  • Track and manage bid schedules and ensure timely submission of estimates.

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide post-bid support and hand-off to project execution teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial estimating (general contractor or subcontractor experience ).

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry best practices.

  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, or similar).

  • Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment under tight deadlines.
